The folks at WobbleWorks LLC recently announced a new version of their popular 3D Printing Pen: the 3Doodler 2.0. WobbleWorks says the new version of the pen is thinner, lighter, and easier to use.
Just like the previous model, the 3Doodler 2.0 works much like a pen that extrudes hot plastic from its tip. The plastic cools almost instantly into a solid structure. Basically, it makes 3D prints possible without a computer or software. Your hand moves the pen into the correct position and voila! A 3D design!
The new model’s specs are impressive. It’s 75 percent slimmer that the first model, making it more ergonomic. It’s also 50 percent lighter, weighing just 50 grams. WobbleWorks claims the case is stronger, too. The pen now comes with speed and temperature controls, too. A finer nozzle and re-engineered drive system should make prints more precise, too.
Accessories such as a foot pedal controller, nozzle set, and portable power pack are also available.
The Kickstarter is already fully funded, but those who want pens still order via the Kickstarter campaign until January 25, 2105.
