More than 3,000 students have already worked with the Jade Robot, a well-equipped bot that’s ready to use right out of the box. The robot includes a wealth of sensors, including all-aspect light and object-detection sensors, a spectrometer, and line sensors.
Unlike most bots on the market, the Jade Robot includes an OLED display and buttons. With this on-board user interface, students can work with the robot without connecting it to a computer. Just by pressing a few buttons students can select from several pre-programmed applications, such as light following and wall following. They can also use the on-board interface to read any run-time errors that might pop up after creating their own code. While the robot does feature an on-board programming application, it is also programmable in Scratch and C. Code is downloaded to the bot via Bluetooth.
You can buy the Jade Robot online from Mimetics.
