Add WiFi to your next robot with the HUZZAH ESP8266 breakout.

Of course, the board includes a certified ESP8266 module with an onboard antenna. But there’s a lot of other features crammed on to the 1 inch by 1.5 inch board which make working ESP8266 much easier, including a reset button, a user button, and a 3.3V out, 500mA regulator. The breakout board also has two diode protected inputs: one for a USB cable, and one for a battery. There’s even a handy LED you can blink to make sure things are working properly.

Pop the breakout on a bredboard for easy access to one analog input, 9 GPIO pins, 2 UART pins, and a couple of 3 – 12 V power inputs. There’s also an FTDI pinout on the end of the board that can be used for uploading code.

The HUZZAH ESP8266 can be purchased from Adafruit for $9.95.
