Hi, I have been wanting to make a hexapod ever since I got my first Robot issue (spring 2008), and saw the Phoenix hex on page 94. So here's my plan for a six-legged, 3-DOF-per-leg:
Get the Lynxmotion Bot Board ($24.95)
Get Atom Pro processor ($50)
Get 18 generic servos on eBay ($20-40)
Get some plywood for the base/legs ($16)
Download Lynxmotion PowerPod (FREE!)
Put it all together: about $112.00Now will this work? And is there a cheaper way. I want it to be able to do these kinds of things:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdR0q-suw0c
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0oyqgMVGDQ
Well, not the last one...
Any ideas/suggestion? Or do I have a good idea going? Should I start with just four legs?
Thanks,
