Building an Autonomous Hovercraft

A recent instructablesarticle provides step-by-step instructions on building an autonomousor remote-control hovercraft. The chassis is made from insulation foamcovered with carbon fiber composite. A nylon skirt and a big brushlessDC motor provide the hover power. Two smaller Rimfire brushless motorswith variable pitch props provide thrust and steering. A PICmicrocontroller is used along with a XBee wireless communications modulefor remote control. The robot also has ultrasonic range sensors.
