SINTEF scientistsin Trondheim, Norway are building arobot-operatedoffshore oil and gas platform.An array of remotely-controlled robot arms willmove up/down, left/right, in/out like robots in a warehouse,all while fancy collision avoidance software does its magic.Tools at the robot's disposal include measuring devices, inspectioncameras, giant drills, and other tools needed to run and maintain therig. Deployment goal: 2015.The result should be reduced costs and reduced risk for humans.
