Water bottle lifting

I'm trying to build(im actually being forced by the club president) that is suppose to lift a water bottle 15 in high. What type of claw should i use to pick up a water bottle. Any other suggestions will be helpful. Thank you! Vex parts only =[

Try the Vexplorer kit. You can get it pretty cheap on eBay and it's gripper is capable of holding a full soda can. If you need it to be autonomous you'll need to replace the control box (it is R/C only) with any micro controller and an HBridge motor driver for each motor. You could even combine it with a regular Vex kit if you have that already.

The only other gripper I have had experience with is from Lynx Motion and it is too small and can't grip firmly enough to hold such a heavy object.
