Rog-a-matic and Iare back from the Austin Maker Faire. It was really, really cool. Ifyou missed it, you should plan on going next year. The preliminary datefor next year's event is October 18-19, 2008. There were lots of robotsto be seen as well as many other forms of artand technology. There werealso lots of interestingpeople to see and meet. Interesting bands andperformers played throughout the day on several stages, many on homebrewelectronic instruments. There were talks and presentations on geekysubjects ranging from iPhone hacking to the cultural problemscaused by the "intellectual property" mentality to flying cars. Our friends over at RobotsRule posted a transcript of the Maker Faire interviewwith Ugobe's CTO John Sosoka. These are the folks who make the Pleo. (incidentally, LisaAbbott, Ugobe's Director ofMarketing, showed me a one-of-kindPleo mod - a white furry Pleo). For more, take at look at myphotos of the event or the many other AustinMaker Faire 2007 photos on flickr. You can also find plenty of AustinMaker Faire 2007 video on YouTube.
