A friend of mine has been working on a robot, I think it is interesting, just wondering what other people think.

Here is a link to the site he made: http://ksharber.googlepages.com/

Here is a quote from his site the sums up what he trying to do

"In the month of August 2006, I came upon the paper entitled "Neurally Controlled Animat". It describes a scientist's attempt to give live to an "Animat" , or artificial animal, by coupling it with living cultured rat neurons on a Multi Electrode Array. I found his experiment very stimulating, but i thought his method was complicating things. First, he uses the MEA with a good deal of the electrodes coupled to a computer that detects patterns of firing, and then if a certain pattern is shown, the animat moves up/down/left/right/etc. the feedback system was similar. the animat would run into an obstacle, and the computer would basically send a dot matrix shape of electricity back to the culture dish. It worked wonderfully, but i think it can be simplified."

What do yall think? Seems like it would be badass if he could make it work like he plans.
