I ran a program on aTI/994A like this input a$, read AI$,B$, if A$=AI$
then print B$.
The read statement read data from mem so i didn't have to wright if then
over and over, if B$= "end" it would go to input a$.
I could type in turn rt and it would light up a small square on screen, this
activated a photocell taped to monitor ,transistor, relay, ran moter. One
photocell turned evrything off so if screen lit up it wouldn't go out of controle. it had rotation, angle elevation and linear extension and a gripper.
I want to make a simalar hardwired brain, 2 mems run off same address
counter , if input=mem A then out mem B , if i could conect it to a BS2 I
might have something, any ideas?
My next work in progress is based on electric wheelchair with arm made
frm electric screwdrivers, antena moter, and gears from lawn mower.
screwdriver turns screw in C clamp pulls trottle cable to run gripp.
have plans to build more powerful one using boat hoist gears and 12V windshield wiper moters which mate with camshaft gear from lawnmower.

Your setup sounds interesting, but I must admit it is rather hard for me to picture what you are saying. Do you have any pictures you could post to give us a little better idea of your setup?

Also, my first computer was a TI994A so it cool to hear that some people are still playing with them!

Sorry, I havn't figured out how to send pictures yet, I am new to web.
let me try to explain a little beter, I was afraid of burning up computer so I used photocells to isolate two systems, these were fixed on screen which was black, one controlled rotation, one drove lift moter, one the extention and one for the grip, one photocell/relay reverses power to all moters, and most important of all when the screen goes blue such as starting up or debugging one photocell/relay turns off all power.
the programs I wrote are lost except small parts in my mem. call key would read joystick and controle squares of lite on monitor driving moters,it didn't have any feed back position was controlled by time moter
ran. 20 years ago a real computer runing a mechanical arm, not a radio runing a toy car. I liked the 99/4a , the extended basic could break down sentences into words , i did some experments with that.
I now have a small machine shop in my house , lathe ,bandsaw, milling machine, welder etc. I have expermented with melting alluminum 1200 DEG f , I use a shop vac to drive a charcoal fire in a hole in the ground.
I use a cast iron pot to melt scrap in then pour it in tin cans so i can turn in lathe, I tried using galvanized sheet metal to make molds it didnt work the alluminum stuck to gallvanizing made tearble mess it comes out of tin can though. am curently working divider head to make my own gears.
My tin man needs a brain .

brianconroy, no offense buddy, but it would really help if you put some punctuation in that sentance.

Try breaking the paragraph down into little chucks so it's more easily readable. People will be more willing to help that way.
