Dear All,

I would like to share with you my last project that has been developed thinking in terms of a world wide community, so I have done it in English.

Project: Artorius Humanoid Robot

All the documentation can be found in the fallowing link

www.laurtec.com/artorius

The project is quite nice and complex, but I'm a believer...and great things can be done with a community.

Looking forward for your feedback,

Regards,

Mauro Laurenti

I enjoy the enthusiasm. How exactly does the "DNA" work to let Artorius evolve? And what behaviors could be expected with different evolutions?

Hello,

Nice to hear from you.

One of the DNA file is the skeleton. Inside the skeleton file you can add the information about a new motor, as the human genome would have the info about where to let the thumb grow.
Since the information about the motor is within a file, this means that you don't have to recompile the source code.
If a human loose a thumb you don't have to change the head...the brain will get use of it and it will try to solve the environmental problems accordingly.
Artorius is doing the same, if you remove a "thumb" it will not use use it any further, and it will try to solve the environmental problems with the motors it has available.

...beside the DNA file there are artificial intelligence algorithm.
this is an open challenge but now you can think that Artorius can learn new pictures...so today it's following me and will not recognize you...tomorrow it will recognize you...
To let him learn I'm thinking of using "pleasure/pain stimulus" approach beside the source code. So Artorius will remenber what is making him happy and what is making him soffering!

...challenging, but I have the enthusiasm and now I can rely on a team...

Regards,

Mauro

...other documents are now on line.

I'm working every day on the software to build up the basc library infrastructure. I'm currently doing reengineering of the old classes to make them fit within the better design picture that is now available.
