EZ Kit Provides Speech Recognition, Color, and Face Tracking

The EZ Robot Developers Kit is an open-ended kit for folks who want to make a customized robot, without dealing with the hassle of finding main components that will definitely work together.

The kit includes the core of what you’ll need for a mobile robot, including four HD servos with 180 degree rotation, two modified servos, and two wheels. But what really sets the kit apart from many other competitors, is that it includes a speaker that can be used for streaming audio and speech, a camera for face, color, and object tracking, and a speech recognition system.

The kit also includes an ultrasonic sensor that can be plugged directly into the EZ-B v4 brain that is also included with the kit. The EZ-B features a 120 MHz 32-bit Cortex M3 ARM Processor and 80 MHz Microchip PIC32. The E-B comes in plastic, white housing, though the 2-inch by 2-inch twin circuit boards can be removed and mounted elsewhere.

The brain also incorporates a WiFi controller and embedded Web server.With the EZ Builder for Windows software, your EZ robot can be programmed with a myriad of behaviors. Ultimately, the robot you build with this kit could be be trained to respond to voice commands or controlled via and Android or iOS device.
