SainSmart has updated its Instabot Upright Rover Kit, so now you can build an even better self-balancing bot. The two-wheeled robot features an Arduino Uno R3 and a wireless remote control.

Key improvements to the 2.0 version of the Instabot Upright Rover include an LCD on the controller, so gesture and PID values can be easily viewed without a USB cable. Just press the button on the joystick to select the values you’d like to view. The transmitter on the 2.0 version also has 8 channels, and new code for the bot improves stability. According to SainSmart, “If it falls down when adjusting the PID values, you don’t need to press reset button but just put it back to the right position and it will restart itself.” The new shield on the bot also makes it easier to connect sensors and servos.

The kit, which includes all the necessary parts and instructions, can be purchased directly from SainSmart for $119.99.
