Parallax At The Maker Faire << Back | 1 | 2 | 3 | Next >>
Parallax, a sponsoring exhibitor at the Maker Faire, put on three different seminars multiple times during the Faire, and all were packed. They explained how to build and program your own RFID Reader, how to use an Ultrasonic Rangefinding Distance Device and Alarm and another was on Accelerometer Sensor Basics. Parallax also demonstrated amazing robots on a tabletop. Andy Lindsay showed Boebots and other Parallax robots that used a variety of intriguing miniature sensors. One used infrared spotlights and sensors to avoid running into objects that the robot approached, and one scanned the “horizon” on the table top with a sonic sensor, and then approached the largest and stopped at its midpoint without hitting it.
